“Fish of Many Colors” is inspired by the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:19 and Mark 1:17. “Come, follow Me, “Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” Also, the fish symbol is taken from what is believed to be the early Christian emblem for Christianity. The idea for the background came from Joseph’s coat of many colors. This painting is meant to help us realize the riches we have through our identity with Jesus Christ. The gift of eternal life provided by Jesus’ death and resurrection is a treasure worth more than all the gold in the world. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
